Why choose a mini?

Miniature Donkeys are ideal paddock pets and whilst they will get along with other animals such as horses, sheep or alpacas (we even had a deer with ours), they prefer the company of other donkeys. We strongly recommend having 2 or 3 at least as they bond very intensely.

Whilst not a chore, we do recommend spending time with your donkeys regularly, enjoying their company and reminding them that you too are a good companion. Take a brush with you and see who tires first – I bet it’s not the donkey!

Reliable Breeding

- Jennys and Foals

Our Jennys have proven for years that our selection processed are very successful with all of our foals showing consistent personalities ideal for pet donkeys, sound confirmation and reliable breeding. The number of repeat customers we have is testament to this.

Our Jennys and foals are constantly stimulated with varying pastures and rotate through our 40 acres. We endeavour to expose our foals to different sounds, environments and people to prepare them for their forever homes. Training is an important part of us preparing our foals. Intense time spent walking foals around the farm, on various road surfaces and around the house is just the beginning of the many different environments our foals become accustomed to.

Downunder Pinot

- Sire

Pinot has excellent American bloodlines proven to continuously produce quality foals of sound confirmation and outstanding personality, especially for pets. His sire Itsy Bitsy Burro Co Red October, a champion imported from Texas, is still residing with us but is retired into a life of leisure now.
